Before my mother in law even knew we would be up North she planned a surprise birthday party for Mike's dad. It was so neat that it worked out for Mike and I to be at it. We were able to leave WI after breakfast, we dropped off a friend at the airport in Chicago and still made it in time to help Mom Bennett decorate for the party at 4. Roger knew we would be there to pick up Caleb so we were going to go out to eat. We went on ahead and when he arrived there at 5:30 there were 32 people singing and surprising him. It was pretty neat! Almost every one brought some sort of gag gift for an old guy. Until this year he had been healthy but last year had to have 2 surgeries and will have to have a hip replacement later this year. Mom Bennett mentioned how thankful she was to still have him here. We all are. Happy 60th!
After the party we stopped by to see Gdma David and then played some games with Mike's parents and brother. The next morning we were on the road again (more sitting)..8 hrs back to WV to see our little ones :) and my dad who had given us quite the scare with a mouth infection he got. Happy to be home again.
