I started talking to the boys about mutton busting about 2 weeks ago to see what they thought about it. Right away they thought like it sounded like fun. I knew the rodeo was coming to town, we were excited even that it was a small town kind. Well several hours before it started to pout the rain down and we figured we wouldn't be going but the rain let up and my mom and dad were game so off we went (with umbrellas). We unfortunately did not get there early enough to get the boys signed up for mutton busting (they only take the first 15. We were able to watch it though. Most kids only stayed on a second but the winner almost 4 seconds. I would have loved to have seen Caleb but they enjoyed just watching it. Next Dad and Titus enjoyed some grilled corn then Dad bought both of them their own can of pop (I can't even drink a whole can in one sitting, but they did). There were about 25 bull riders, 5 made the time and moved on to the 2nd round. We also saw some horse tricks and Caleb thought the rodeo clown was quite funny. When intermission came along the boys had to go potty (whole can of pop each remember) so my Dad to took them up the hill where the port a pottys were. About the time they got up there we got a sudden downpour. Mom and I were able to cover ourselves and chairs with the umbrellas and after 15 minutes it stopped. We could see a huge lightning and thunderstorm coming and it was almost 9 so we took off. Although we live about 10 minutes from the place we had fairly good weather while Mike said it poured at home the whole time so it was nice to see what we did. We heard later the best ride was the last of the evening and one bull threw a man several feet but he was alright. Good times, always have enjoyed rodeos.
Job 37:5-7 God thunders marvelously with His voice; He does great things which we cannot comprehend. For He says to the snow, ‘Fall on the earth’; Likewise to the gentle rain and the heavy rain of His strength. He seals the hand of every man, That all men may know His work.
