School books

Our books have arrived and I have already spent 3 days counting pages, days of school, and looking through he curriculum I will be using for Caleb this year. He is going to be in K-5. We will travelling again regularly beginning the second week of August so I have to have plans done ahead of time. Our first stop is our former church in NY then we are off to MI for a month. I plan to have all the lesson plans and pages torn out that I will need for those 5 weeks away. Then I will have 4 days to reorganize before we head down to Jacksonville. I am really excited about teaching my kids and making learning fun. I think the hardest things will be trying to be flexible as we travel and have meetings in the midst of getting our teaching times in. My other dilemia is that I will not know if my days are to heavy or to light until we are already in MI.
I was planning to use BJ Press for our books this year but as I started to compare prices and when I realized that I already had several ABeka books (and that is what I used in K-5) we changed our plan for this year. For Titus I was planning to do the letter a week like I did for Caleb when he was 3 and then on to the hooked on phonics in January. Titus can already recognize all his letters but I still plan to teach him and he will sit in on some of Caleb's teaching like Bible and Art. With Caleb I was able to go to the library every week and get 25 books on the letter of the week, we do not have that convenience here or while travelling. I am enjoying our summer play time but I do really enjoy the schedule of the school year as well.

I'm going to be starting to homeschool Aaron in a month or so, but just preschool. My mother-in-law had gotten the ABeka curriculum to teach his cousin so I'm just going to get a new workbook and borrow everything else. I'm excited and nervous at the same time. Is there any suggestions or thing to do/not to do that you can give me? My m-in-l tells me that it's pretty self explanatory, so I guess we'll see. Like you, I want it to be fun and yet productive. I know I'm definitely not going to have the challenges that you are. Sounds like you're gonna have to be SUPER organized and on the ball all the time! I'll be prayin' for you! Anyway, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
