Job 37:5-7 God thunders marvelously with His voice; He does great things which we cannot comprehend. For He says to the snow, ‘Fall on the earth’; Likewise to the gentle rain and the heavy rain of His strength. He seals the hand of every man, That all men may know His work.

8 years
Can you believe that? Well this past Tuesday Mike and I celebrated our 8th year anniversary. I would have been content to go to the waterfall we got engaged at and some shopping and dinner but Mike had bigger plans. On Monday morning we left to go to Pittsburgh, about 2 hrs north of us. Since we bought the Tampa zoo membership we also get in free to many other zoos around the country. The aviary was free as well with the membership, so when we arrived we went there first. The boys got to feed a duck named Milo, we also saw a penguin feeding (kind of) and some neat birds. I was surprised by a crested pigeon who let me sit on the bench next to him. After the aviary we were quite hungry and knowing we couldn't check in till the hotel still we decided to go to Chuck e cheese. Mike and I enjoy playing the games as much as the boys and we were able to earn 700 tickets!. The pizza was pretty good too. Then it was nap time when we got to the hotel. Mike made sure ahead of time that it had an indoor pool and I'll have to say it was the nicest pool we have ever had at a hotel. So we enjoyed the evening swimming and went again in the morning after breakfast. Next on the agenda was the Pitts zoo and aquarium. They had 2 baby elephants that were SO CUTE!!! Another highlight was that the polar bear decided to go swimming right as we got to his exhibit. We were able to pet the sting rays and see many animals. Since the Wings were in Pitts for the hockey game finals we wore our Red Wing shirts (yes in enemy territory) we got several "Boo"s and lots of comments (no one was mean). It was a really nice zoo and we liked that any of the "extra" were only a dollar. The boys got to go on a little log ride. On our way home the boys got their naps and then Mom watched them while Mike and I went our for some shopping (with my birthday money) and to dinner at Applebees. A great way to celebrate I'd say! (I don't think I got any photos of just Mike and me... oh well Just have to get one of those next year..or the next, We look forward to many more.)

YAY! So glad you got to enjoy the Pittsburgh zoo! The baby elephant was a fave of ours too. I'm jealous that you got to see the polar bear swimming -- I had really wanted to see that. Sounds like you had a very full anniversary celebration, congrats!
