Homecoming - 56 years

Today we had a beautiful day for our church's 56th anniversary/homecoming. My husband and Pastor Wheeler put a lot of time and effort into it to make it a special day. I was in the nursery for the morning service but after that we went to the cafeteria to have a picnic lunch. Now down here in Fl you can't sit on the ground due to our scratchy grass, mean ants, and prickly burrs. We did have sandwiches, chips, pop, and fruit. We also had a dessert bake-off. I made my dad's pumpkin roll (it took 3rd in taste but partly b/c my husband couldn't vote for mine). Then we headed outside for a tug of war game and water balloon launch. The kids played in a rented bounce house while this went on then we had our afternoon service outside on the bleachers. Abe slept through the whole thing. After the service many stayed for a softball game - I took the boys home for much needed naps. It was a beautiful day and a great time to spend with our great church family.
