It's official we have been accepted under Baptist World Missions to be missionaries to New Zealand. Our Missions Conference was at Falls Baptist Church this year in WI. It was quite a shock to go from 85 degree weather to freezing (I'm not sure how cold it was but there was frost on the windows...and we don't own an ice scraper). The boys travelled so well up to the conference and we enjoyed seeing my sisters in Greenville on the way up as well as some family time at the hotels. We went to Marquette Manor for Sunday morning services then on to Falls. We stayed with the youth pastor's family while we there for a week, which ended up being a huge blessing. They have 4 kids who got along well with our boys, our fellowship was good when we had time to talk but Mrs Shoultz also took the boys for me each afternoon so they could get naps while Mike and I were in meetings. Monday we had our doctrinal and call to missions meetings..I cried a lot.
It was nerve racking but I also was just so happy to be headed to the mission field after years of waiting for the Lord to show us where. (I will try to make that a post in the near future). The Lord also used the church family, Pastor, and messages to do a work in my life. I have some pruning and stepping it up to do in my Christian walk. Tuesday morning we gave our testimonies in the auditorium in front of the board, other missionaries, school and college kids (aka - lots of people). Later that afternoon we stood before the entire board and were approved. Wednesday we had a special ladies lunch in the afternoon and Caleb was able to go to a farm with the other missionary kids. Then Mike and I had a 3 hr meeting regarding our finances in the future. Thank you to all who prayed for us. We have had great travelling times so far, boys are doing well, God is working in our hearts and we are headed to New Zealand!!! God also provided financially for our whole trip plus a trip to the Creation Museum on our way up to WI.

Please continue to pray as we have much to do in the next 2 months, including getting our prayer cards, letters to churches ready, presentation prepared, along with Mike finishing up his work at Victory and packing to move to my parents farm to start full-time deputation. The board recommended we take a trip as soon as we are able and we are praying for finances for that as well.

I came across your blog awhile back and saw that you guys were looking to the mission field and that interested me. I don't know if you would remember my husband or I from Northland. I know I didn't have any classes with either of you, but I remember seeing you around campus. Anyway, I just wanted to say that I had a similar experience when we had our examination time with Baptist Mid-Missions. There were tears. There was conviction and areas the Lord worked in my heart. There was wonderful fellowship with missionaries who have "been there." There was wonderful fellowship with those who were just starting the journey with us. It was a wonderful experience. I am excited for you guys.
Praise the Lord! I had goose bumps reading your blog. So excited for you guys and will be praying for these next couple months.
