Job 37:5-7 God thunders marvelously with His voice; He does great things which we cannot comprehend. For He says to the snow, ‘Fall on the earth’; Likewise to the gentle rain and the heavy rain of His strength. He seals the hand of every man, That all men may know His work.

Seeking His Strength
I am so thankful to be in the ministry...I could not imagine or wish for anything else but to serve the One who gave His all for me. There are many joys but there are also many heartaches. During these times it is so encouraging to have the Lord fill me up again with a picture of who He is and what His purpose for me is. The last two books I have read in the Bible were Jeremiah (many prophesies against cities) and now I Chronicles (genealogies). It was very encouraging to get past those this week and read David's song of praise to the Lord after the ark of the Lord was brought back to the city of David. Here are some excerpts from I Chron. 16:
1.)Seek the Lord's face continually and His strength (boy have I needed strength lately)
2.)Remember His marvelous works, His wonders, and His Words.
3.)Sing unto the Lord.
4.)Shew forth his salvation from day to day, declaring his glory among the heathen. For great is the Lord - He made the heavens, He lives, He cannot be compared to the dead idols of the heathen - and greatly deserves to be praised and feared.
5.)Give unto the Lord the glory due His name.
I just started reading a book by William Fay called "Share Jesus without fear." I knew it would be a conviction to me who struggles with witnessing but believed it would help me to. I pray I will be a faithful witness for my Savior. Between this book and this passage above the Lord gave me such encouragement and conviction that I needed.

I love hearing what you're learning in your quiet time! It's so great when God opens up the Scripture for us and really speaks to our hearts. I'm in Deuteronomy lately and it has been such a refreshing time. I was going to share it in my blog (I was actually trying to write it last night), but I couldn't organize my thoughts enough, so I left it alone for the time being. If I get a chunk of time that I can organize the blog entry a little better, I'll probably post it. Anyway thanks for sharing.
P.S. We ARE planning to come on Monday. It may be a little late (while we wait for Noah to wake up from his morning nap), but we plan to be there.
Thanks for sharing, Carrie! God is so good to faithfully give us the strength we need from His Word!
