Bus stops, Burgers, and Bridge tracts

So I was cleaning the church yesterday morning, so I could spend this morning packing for our camping excursion this weekend. It was pretty clean so I was getting done early and thought I'd run by the park before going home for lunch. Before I left, Pastor Wheeler goes, "Carrie how would you like to be a blessing..." Then he proceeded to share he had been on the phone for a couple of days with a 19 yr old that is pregnant and trying to get back home. Well some church families bought her a bus ticket back home to Indiana but he wanted someone to first share the gospel with her before she left. Me and the boys still went to the park and then since I didn't have to drive, someone was going with me and it was an open opp to share the gospel - I went. Mike came home and watched the kids. We went to Burger King and then I had about 35 minutes to walk through the bridge tract and answer questions she had. She believes she has confessed her sins and been saved before so I encouraged her to read through I Jn (with the Bible P Wheeler sent for her). Then we went to the bus stop (about 3:15) downtown Jax. This was an interesting experience in itself - people taping bags together...cockroaches crawling out of bags.. all sorts of interesting people. "M's" bus was suppose to leave at 4:20 but didn't until 6:00. I had two more chances to witness - one just handing out a tract, another a lengthy, crazy conversation with a Long Islander catholic man who I believe has gotten most his beliefs from movies (definitely not the Word of God). It was a long, change of pace day for me. I'm glad for the opportunity. The best things is there is a good church we know of near her home so we are looking forward to getting them her info to contact her again.
Plus speaking of cockroaches (and this is really gross - but in Fl they are so common). Last night I was headed out to the garage to bring laundry in and when I opened the door their was like a 2 in cockroach so I caught him in a cup and Mike came and smooshed him later - I can handle spiders, snakes...but bug guts squirting out - YUCK! Then we head for bed and open our medicine cabinet and there is another same size cockroach. Mike killed it to. I used to think cockroaches only lived in dirty places, but I keep my house clean...I just hope I don't start finding their babies in our food boxes again!

that's wonderful that you had those opportunities to witness. we'll be praying that the Lord will open the eyes of those you witnessed too, and that the girl will be able to find a good body of believers to join with.

oh and you should add 'bugs' to your title to keep with the alliterations. :) cockroaches gross me out, we had them in va beach..haven't seen any here so far....

Praise the Lord for a chance to witness yesterday!

You and Mike make a good pair: you kill all the spiders and he kills all the cockroaches! :)

Yes, in florida where stayed I saw 2. We had briefly toyed with the idea of buying a home there, but I knew after living in fear of roaches for a week I could never do it!!!

FBook me about this girl. Where is she in Indiana? Let me know if I could be of help.
