Letter A

Titus joined us in our school time this past Monday. I am just working on teaching him a letter each week. So this week was letter A. I begin with the boys together for pledges, singing, prayer, Bible and an animal of the day lesson. Then while Caleb works on seat work I do some things with Titus..he takes a break while I finish with Caleb and then we read all together and do an extra activity to end the day. The first day of school Titus tracing the letter A and he didn't stay on the lines...I didn't say anything but he started to cry when I asked why he said because he couldn't do it. I tried to explain he is only 3 and he doesn't have to stay right on the lines he just has to do his best. So this week to incorporate the A theme we ate apples, drew an apple, made paper airplanes, made animal puppets (Titus wanted to make a Colobas monkey..known for its black and white appearance), acrobats, colored and sent off an air balloon too. I think he really enjoyed it all but his favorite part is being read to. We were fortunate that Faith allowed us to check out some books from their library so we could read some that went along with our theme.
