Thanksgiving 2010

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving this year. Mike's parents came in from MI, we were at the farm with my parents and grandparents and all my siblings (except Laura...who we missed so much) were able to come. Caleb learned a poem called "Indian Children" and Ps 34:3, Titus learned Ps 40:5, niece Karis read Psalm 150 with instrument action from the rest of the kids. They all sang "We thank thee, Lord." That happened after dinner then we went for dessert and after each kid shared something they went off to play and all the adults had a great thankful share time. Mike got 2 deer and made deer jerky and the rest he sent with his parents (heart and liver included..yuck!). I really only like deer meat as jerky. The girls did some black Friday shopping Friday morning and I got some great things at Kohls. I really have almost all my shopping done this year. Also Mike gave me my early Christmas/ 10 year anniversary present...We are going to the Bahamas in a week! I am really excited and it will be really great to spend some time alone with him..in a vacation atmosphere.

I felt so awful this year as so many of you were counting down the days in November bu telling what you were thankful. I really wanted to join in because I really do have so much to be thankful to God for. Also I read Nancy DeMoss' book "Choosing Gratitude" this year. It had a 30 day focus on being thankful to God with a scripture passage each day to focus on. Then after that I studied the names of God. I went through the concordance and cross references and learned so much about my wonderful God. I am so thankful God has revealed so much of himself to us through his names...and yet He is so much bigger than we can comprehend. Do you have a favorite name of God?
