HOT DOG!

Saturday morning we woke up to receiving power back on the farm after 3 nights without. We celebrated with the Hot Dog dance (done best by Titus). Well this past week we lost power Wednesday night while we were at church - bad day not to get the dinner dishes done before church. We spent the night down in the trailer and it was 48 degrees in the house that morning so we headed up the road to hang up where at least they had heat from the oven. We ended up staying up there the rest of the week will we got power on Saturday morning about 7:30 - we left at 9:30 for Alabama. Thankfully mom was going to go down and do my yucky dishes for me and empty my fridge which needed many things thrown out due to the outage, while we are away this week. Mom and Dad had to go to the hotel every night for Dad's breathing machine, we slept in their bed and Will took a shower at the hotel Thursday night we did Friday night. Friday mom and I also went to the laundry mat to do laundry and fill jugs with water. Thursday night we got a generator to hook up the fridge so all Dad's valentines banquet food wouldn't spoil, or everything else in there. With the strong winds - Wendy's old trailer fell off the blocks, we lost the roof from one of the green barns in the old pigpen, and Gdma Martz's skirt around her trailer came off (still there but needs put back and on). A neighbor also lost a barn. My sister Holly, who has been in Cameroon has this happen quite often, I am glad that it doesn't where we live. Due to the yucky dishes I found more mouse evidence so we will have to set the traps again when we get back.

It is starting to warm up so I look forward to getting outside with the boys more, soon we will set up the trampoline, I think we are probably mostly done with snow maybe just a few frosty mornings. It makes for a muddy mess with the tractors though. Other news from the week: Mike and I went to the DMV this week and got our WV licenses, we had to take mom with us to say we did live on the farm. Then they wouldn't transfer Mike's CDL unless he had a physical form from a doctor so he said he would just drop that - they had to call Charleston to do and that made the whole process take much longer. The next day we had to go to the court house to assess our van then back to the DMV to transfer the title but they were without power that day so went back Friday and finished that up.

Update: We heard Thursday that Mike's dad got his tests back on his thyroid - Clean! He also found out that the area in the prostrate that was cancerous was only about the size of a fingernail - but still glad they removed it as it was a fast growing cancer.

Mike and I are in Alabama this week for a relationship seminar hosted by Baptist World Mission. Dr Griffith is the speaker. We spent 10 hours in the car together for Valentines Day. Caleb cried as we left and misses us. We weren't allowed to bring the boys so my family is taking care of them. One month till we go to New Zealand for our Survey Trip!
