Cancer

My Father in law found out in January that he had cancer in his prostrate - already a number 8, so they decided to remove it as soon as they could. That was today, February 2. We took him in around 10:30 they prepped him and we saw him again right before he went into surgery at 1. Many people came to the hospital to sit with us. We had Abe with us but the other boys had a babysitter for the day. About 4:3 we needed to leave, Mike got to slip in for a minute as Roger was in recovery but was having high blood pressure. We went back in the evening to see him with the boys - his blood pressure is still high but the surgery went really well. The doctor seemed happy that it seemed they removed all the cancer but still sent the lymph nodes away for further testing - they should know in a week the results from that. He was tired so we didn't stay long, we will return in the morning. He should be coming home either Wednesday for Thursday at the latest if all goes well. We will be staying till Friday to help. We know the Lord is working His good purpose through all of this as we have had opportunity to see more family at this time. Thank you for your prayers for our family.

What an incredible blessing that you can be there for your in-laws! I'm sure you have been a blessing to both of them! I'm sure having the kids there is also a good distraction! Will be praying for full recovery and good test results!

Mike, we have been in prayer for your Dad and your Mom. They have certainly been "stretched" with illness. Please tell them we love them and will continue to pray for them.
Praying for each of you as well.
