Was it worth it?

This could turn into a very lengthy post but I will try to spare you all the details while still giving you the jist of our day. Back at my baby shower I was given a gift certificate to a portrait studio on the south side of Jacksonville (40 min away). Since we had money toward pictures we scheduled an appointment and I was excited as I talked to the lady on the phone and figured with their $10 special and other prices I was quoted for sheets, we would be able to get family and Abe photos without paying any extra money, because of our gift certificate. So the boys got early Christmas presents from our friends, the Lindsays - matching shirts! Now that gets me excited! Pictures are one of my favorite things in the world. Our appointment was at 4:40 so we got there at 4:30 so we could make sure everyone looked just right. They were a little busy so they said it would be about a 15-20 min wait...an hour later we got to have our pictures taken. That went pretty well but I'm pretty sure the ladies were trying to scare the kids instead of getting them to smile (we still got some great shots). Also I worked all week with Abe seeing what noises, touches would make him smile, but they had an extra photographer doing that. You would think a mom would know her kid best? So then they had all like 64 shots come up on this huge flat screen so we could choose our favorites. We picked our family shot for the $10 special package then went on buy Abe's shots at the quoted price...they are only that price if you buy 3 poses...so we ended up paying $50 above our coupon. Then we went to eat while our pictures printed. Online they were advertised to be done in 15-20 minutes, they told us to come back in a half hour...we ate, spent longer than a half hour out, arrived back and they hadn't even started printing our pictures. They said they had paper problems twice. So I fed Abe (thankfully I had brought a bottle along, b/c I certainly hadn't planned to be our this long). Now we have been there for 3 hours and we are finally getting our pictures, I don't usually like to make waves but I really felt they had not lived up to their advertisements so I asked to leave a comment/complaint and was able to talk to the manager. At first she gave us free pics for our next visit but when I told her we were moving to WV (they don't have this store) she refunded our $50. Praise the Lord. We got awesome shots all free, yes a lot longer amount of time spent...but I'd say worth it. This isn't the first time this has happened to us either. You'll have to wait to see the photos will our family receives them but we got some good ones!

Don't you hate it when the seemingly perfect situation goes wrong! I'm dissapointed for you...but free pictures - I say "Worth it"!

Worth it. Definitely. Especially if you're happy with your pictures. We had a good experience getting our pictures done, but I'm not happy with them At All.
