New Zealand bound

Caleb's verse this week for Kings Club has been such an encouragement to me "O Come let us worship and bow down, let us kneel before the Lord, our Maker!" It just puts things in the right perspective for me - which I have definitely needed especially today. The Lord, our Creator certainly is worthy of all worship and praise and obedient service.
As most of you know our Pastor resigned and left the church in the beginning of January. Mike and I began even in November praying where the Lord would be leading, directing us and what His purpose was for our life. We prayed about taking the Senior Pastorate here, somewhere else, missions... The Lord clearly showed us when we had the Pipers come to our church and share the needs of New Zealand. Mike had a meeting with him and we prayed some more - YES! The Lord has called us to be missionaries in New Zealand! It is so exciting in the way that we both have been interested in missions and willing to go since we were kids but it wasn't till now that the Lord has given us a field and a green light. There are still many unknowns, so many fears but the Lord continually reminds us of his power and grace. During Revival services in January the Lord really touched my heart about doubting Him and my faith, today I was reminded again as I read in Mark how the disciples were doubting God's care for them, Jesus rebuked the wind and waves (they obeyed his voice) and then he asked him why they were afraid - where was there faith? This reminded me of my life verse immediately - Is 40:12 "Who hath measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, and meted out heaven with the span, and comprehended the dust of the earth in a measure, and weighed the mountains in scales, and the hills in a balance?" Certainly He is Big and can meet any of my needs and concerns. There are plenty. Please pray for us! More details and testimony to come... God is continually teaching us so much.

May we always give our Maker all He deserves,

Mike, Carrie, Caleb, and Titus Bennett

WOW! How exciting for all of you! And how scary at the same time. We totally need to talk - did you know my sister lives in NZ? She's not a believer but I can give you lots of insight into the lifestyle and culture of NZ through her eyes. I've been there once to visit her about 3 1/2 years ago and it is truly the most beautiful land I have ever seen. Spiritually though it seems completely darkened. Isn't Christianity claimed by only like a fraction of a percentage there? Seems like a very socialistic and modern culture - almost european.

Anyways, I'm so very excited for you guys! Keep us posted on the next steps in the process. God bless you!

How exciting to be taking this next step in your life! We'll be praying for you! I have a picture of Mount Taupo (sp?) in New Zealand on my wall in our room. Jill Johnson got it for me as a thank you/b-day present for helping her plan her itinerary when she went there several years ago. It's GORGEOUS!
