Because of Mike's vacation - we knew we would not have much time off for Christmas so Mike volunteered to make two long trips this time of year so we could spend more time with both families. Our church has a praise and thanks dinner on Monday of Thanksgiving week. It was a good time with tons of testimonies and singing. . .then we left for the night long road trip. I slept from 11-12 then got a french vanilla cappuccino (mmmm) that kept me up the rest of the night which was a good thing especially for Mike after his super long day of work, b-ball practice and dinner at church. We played 20 questions and the alphabet game, and talked, we did not listen to Christmas music, already playing on the radio. We took sweaters but for the first 2 days we certainly did not need them. We had fun climbing trees, jumping in leaves (for our letter L week coming up, playing around the hay bales, making foam thankful turkeys, riding four wheelers and hanging out with my family. Thursday we had 30 people for dinner - my dad as always had a huge spread and everything I had was delicious. I put together a program for the dinner including some hymns, funny songs, and verses of Thanksgiving. My sister Laura was the only kid in my family missing (She was in Cambodia, they saw over 500 people make professions of faith. My oldest sister and family got in Thursday morning - Caleb and Karis played so well with each other.
I am not one to be a shopper on Black Friday - except in WV - we didn't get up super early but left the house around 8 (my mom and siblings) The husbands were so nice to stay home and watch the kids. I was the one leading our troop, we found some good deals, ate at my favorite place - Long John Silvers, and had a nice time out together. Saturday we had to head back and it look a little longer than planned but all in all it was a wonderful trip. I am so thankful for my family (parents, siblings, grandparents, Mike's family, and even just my own) The Lord has truly blessed us with so much and He is good all the time!

How fun! Aww . . . you guys slept in on black Friday. Don and I were making our last hurrah out of this year, since with a new baby coming, we are unsure if we will be able to get away for our favorite shopping day of the year. We were up at 4:30 and out the door by 5:00 to stand in line. It was great fun! We always love this day together. I guess it's because it is our one "family tradition" that we have created just him and I! I'm glad you had a great time with family!
