You guessed it - letter K update. Psalm 34:13 "keep thy tongue from evil" - boy that is easier said than done, what a good reminder for me and Caleb to use our tongues for good but not only our tongues our first day we talked about being kind to those around us through the story of the good Samaritan. The rest of the days we talked about the Kings - Saul, David, Solomon, and Jesus. Monday was our Kangaroo and Koala day. Tuesday Kissing and Kites (although the weather did not cooperate so we are hoping to go out today and do that still as well as kick around a soccer ball.) We sang I love you a bushel and a peck and let's go fly a kite. Wednesday was about Kindergarten and a few misc. K books I had. This day we also worked in his preschool book about beginning sounds - but he isn't so good at it he holds out the end sound instead of the beginning. Thursday we read Dr Seuss' The kings stilts and a really great book called Climbing Kansas mountains. Mike had his first home b-ball game that went to as well. Friday we finished up with Kitten and Kitchen theme. We talked about King Jesus and how He is the King of Kings and we need to be willing to obey him immediately when he asks us to do something. We did the cute rhythm of the 3 little kittens and sang I'm a child of the King. Yesterday we made a Kings crown with construction paper and the boys wore them almost all day today! Caleb has been using his magna doodle a lot this week asking me how to spell ... and then writing letters down, he's doing well with that, he also enjoys playing with the letter magnets on the fridge these days - although he still likes to put the letters left to right and add letters and thinks it still should be a word. I figure he will grow out of these things.

Next week we take a break b/c we are headed to my parents house in WV for Thanksgiving! All my siblings will be there but Laura who is in Cambodia on a medical missions trip until next Saturday so please pray for her if you think of it. I am really looking forward to the family time, food, crunchy leaves to jump in and praising the Lord for his wondrous blessings. (Check out Redeeming Womenhood for some Thanksgiving ideas).

Now I've got that song "I love you a bushel and a peck" in my head - that's such a cute one. :) I so almost got that king on stilts book today from the library for Chloe! Looked a little above her level still though.
Keep up the creative work on the letters!
