I scream, you scream. . .

We all scream for Ice Cream! Unfortunately I only found one book about ice cream, actually most days I didn't have as many books as normal but we made up for it by all the projects we did this week. We did have ice cream sundaes Monday night played an ice cube melt game (like hot potato) and read some "i" books. I had also found some very funny songs about ice cream. Tuesday we did "in" - Inside mouse, outside mouse", "In the forest", "In the tall tall grass" and our first "Indian 2 feet" book (I found 3 so we read one most days). We also made homemade instruments this day and that went well till Caleb hit Titus with the spoon for no reason. Wednesday we had island day and had Hawaiian pizza for dinner (since it didn't work out last week). We read 3 books about islands and played "I spy." These 3 days we talked about Isaac - his birth, the sacrifice, and his marriage. Our verse this week was Jn 14:14 "If ye shall ask anything in my name, I will do it" The next two days we did stories from the children of Israel. Thursday was the funnest day which was all about Insects. We sang and read "the itsy, bitsy spider," read "What a pair" and "Inchworm and a half." We sang "Little by Little." We talked about inches and measured with inches then cups - he did really well understanding 2 1/2 cups make a whole cup, and so forth. We made some more turkey hand prints as well as bugs using thumb prints - caterpillars, lady bugs, butterflies. .. ). I really didn't have a theme for the last day - we read a story about the Iron Horse, If I were a parrot and our last 2 feet Indian book. Then we reviewed past letters and wrote Letter I. I would have liked to have found some invertebrate books but I did explain to him what they were. Thanks to all those who encourage me in my endeavors and if you want me to ever send you any of the songs or poems, I do have most of them saved.

Carrie - you are amazing! I am always so amazed at what you come up with to teach Caleb. You do a great job, and maybe if the Lord ever gives us kids, I'll have to use your ideas. Are you a teacher, by chance? :-)

Hey Carrie,
Would you be able to send some of the coloring pages with the verses on them to my e-mail or if you got them from a site I could go on there and get them. We are working on all of Psalms 23 with Drew now for family devotions, but for school I would like some simple verses for him. Thanks! I bet Caleb is enjoying learning.
